Medicinal
A useful herb with a range of actions due to the volatile oil that it contains. Volatile oils have a soothing effect on smooth muscle, which makes hyssop helpful for coughs, catarrh and bronchitis, helping to relax the lung tissue and allowing the mucus to be expelled. Hyssop also encourages sweating, which is good in cases of fever and colds, helping the body to regulate its temperature.
